Wax-dipping Amsterdam Archaeology

What do you want to leave behind in 2023? Take a cherished item during the Christmas holiday to the Oude Kerk and place it in Meredith Monk's installation Amsterdam Archaeology. Together with others, you contribute to the creation of a new artwork, a unique Amsterdam variation on the iconic artwork "American Archaeology" by the world-renowned artist Meredith Monk.

After a successful edition during Museum Night in November, the wax-dipping station reopens during the Christmas holiday. On December 29 and 30, dip your object in liquid beeswax and add it to the artwork. The beeswax protects the object from weathering and aging, a tangible memory of your life and this time.
