On 9 August, the fifth of eight public circle meetings around 'doubt' will take place. In this circle together with Ben Dragstra, who works at the Salvation Army, we will discuss the role of doubt in contemporary society, existence and neighbourhood through various reflections.
For this doubt gathering, we have invited artist collective We Sell Reality to continue the conversations started during the Shadows of Policy circle (brought together by artist Ola Hassanain). During the earlier public gathering on 1 July, the group asked what it means to live in a city like Amsterdam, if you have to navigate, through immigration policy? How can you make space for yourself and assert yourself amid repressive government policies?
During this doubt meeting, we will explore this further. We will also jointly discuss which places, settings and ways are desirable and suitable for discussing these kinds of uncertainties.
