The Oude Kerk and Dekmantel Festival '24 present a unique live concert by acclaimed composer and performer Kali Malone. The rich, repetitive, and poignant works of this Stockholm-based American artist utilize specific tuning systems in minimalist structures for pipe organ, choir, chamber music ensembles, and electroacoustic formats. She performs sets worldwide on the finest organs in numerous churches and cathedrals. Especially since the release of her critically acclaimed album 'The Sacrificial Code,' she has established herself as a respected innovator in organ music.

Oldest Concert Hall in the City

The Oude Kerk is not only the oldest building in Amsterdam but also the oldest concert hall in the city. For over 700 years, it has been a place where musical traditions are born, passed on, and renewed. In the morning series Silence, musicians explore the ancient acoustics with contemporary music. In the Monuments series, leading organists from the Netherlands and abroad perform both classical and modern organ compositions. Playing the Cathedral is an annual residency program and festival where internationally renowned musicians are invited to compose a piece specifically for the church space. In the Oude Kerk, you can hear famous masterpieces in new ways and pioneering works by living legends.
