Laila Sakini is a Melbourne-born, London-based multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and performer. With minimal electro-acoustic instrumentation and an ethereal voice, she creates dynamic environments designed to be both felt and heard.

In the Oude Kerk, she crafts her sensory music in dialogue with the building and Navid Nuur's exhibition. Site-specific sounds recorded here, such as the clicking pebbles in Navid Nuur's installation Step by Step, are woven into arrangements of sparse instrumentation, subtle effects, and her own vocals. She combines a range of instrumental sounds, including piano, cello, bass clarinet, violin, glockenspiel, timpani, and recorder, with manipulations of reverb, space, and found sound to create a physically immersive soundscape.
