Performers
Rembrandt Frerichs
– Transept Organ
Maripepa Contreras
– oeboe, cor anglais, duduk
Vinsent Planjer – percussion

Pianist Rembrandt Frerichs, drummer Vinsent Planjer and oboist Maripepa Contreras blend the historic Transept Organ of the Oude Kerk with whispering drums and the melancholic tones of the Armenian duduk. A musical dialogue between East and West, between the ancient and the contemporary.

Frerichs’ grandfather was an organist, and it seems musical blood runs deep. Both Frerichs and Contreras perform in both classical and jazz styles. Contreras and Planjer share a love for the tonal colours of early Arabic and Persian music.
