The Vater-Müller organ of the Oude Kerk is back! In the coming years, the instrument will sound multiform and in numerous contexts in the newest and oldest music temple in Amsterdam. Since this fall, the organ has been sounding in a new series with prominent organists and ensembles: Monuments. A moment on Saturday evening when time stands still and history sounds in the grand acoustics of the Oude Kerk. Experience how the concert in the middle of the current installation Poems for Earthlings becomes more intimate, and the world outside feels even further away.
Monuments 2 is played by Matthias Havinga, concert organist, teacher, pianist and church musician. He is the organist of the Bätz organ (1830) in the Koepelkerk or Ronde Lutherse Kerk in Amsterdam, where he organizes the Koepelkerk concerts. He is also the organist of the Oude Kerk Congregation Amsterdam.
