The Vater-Müller organ of the Oude Kerk is back! In the coming years, the instrument will sound in numerous contexts, in the newest and oldest music temple in Amsterdam. From 14 September onwards, the organ stars in Monuments: a new series featuring prominent organists and ensembles. A moment on Saturday evening when time stands still, and history resonates intensely in the grand acoustics of the Oude Kerk.
Vincent Dubois, organist of Notre Dame in Paris, performs the first edition, Monuments #1. As the first guest organist for this series, Dubois will play compositions by J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart, F. Mendelssohn, R. Schumann and F. Liszt, whose lives and work were impacted by organs.
J.S. Bach: Toccata and fugue in F (bwv 540)
W. A. Mozart: Andante in F
F. Mendelssohn: Sonata 6
R. Schumann: Canon in f
F. Liszt: Preludium and fugue on B.A.C.H.
