On Saturday morning, November 23, the Oude Kerk is organizing an artist talk with Adrián Villar Rojas. Jacqueline Grandjean, director and curator of the exhibition, will discuss Poems for Earthlings with him: the installation he made especially for the Oude Kerk. They will speak about themes that are central to Villar Rojas’ work, including the anthropocene, monuments and the way we deal with heritage. In addition, the process of creating the exhibition will be discussed. For this, the artist immersed himself completely in the environment: he did not only research the Oude Kerk and its neighbourhood, but also the social and institutional structures of which the church is part. The talk ends with a Q&A, during which the audience is invited to exchange ideas with the artist.
